chicken-and-egg-angryKim Thrower was born in London in 1956. His first painting was sold whilst still at Bedales School Hampshire. He went on to work for Dartington Glass as a glass engraver. Alongside the glass work came private commissions for larger scale engravings and paintings.

Kim has had private & commercial commissions from across Britain, Europe and the USA for the last 40 years. He has exhibited in Paris, London, New York and many other provincial towns in England & France.

His recent work has been inspired by a variety of events and these reflect the diversity of the paintings. A trip to San Francisco in June of this year inspired the cupcake series, while the chickens are reflections from his childhood. The most recent paintings were inspired by a film.

‘The two paintings of prisoners were inspired by a film about Auschwitz. We have to remember that in modern society this attitude towards life and values has still not changed.’

‘The ringmaster has altered, but the circus remains the same.’

-Ashdown, Baron

Kim is now living and dying in Hastings.
