!! AGM Tue 25 May 2010 !!.
An annual general meeting is mandatory.
Firstly, we need to approve the accounts for the period, Jan – Dec 2009. Accounts for this period are now finalised and have been submitted for
independent audit . (Our last AGM in October 2009 covered the period 2006 -2008, due to exceptional circumstances.)
Secondly, Forum members are required to appoint and/or re-appoint members to the committee. All positions on the committee become vacant.
Thirdly, it is an opportunity for members to suggest changes to the constitution – Anyone wishing to make changes must submit their proposal three weeks in advance of the AGM, ie 4 May. It should be proposed and seconded.
The AGM will be held in the Azur (downstairs) and will begin at 6.30pm. A quorum of ten per cent of the membership is necessary, so please put the date in your diaries. Membership is currently fluctuating between 450 and 550 members.
Please also start thinking about whether you or another member might stand for the committee, or one of the officer posts (Chair, Secretary or Treasurer), as many of the current group would like to take a “breather” after what has been a difficult fifteen months. Proposals for election to the committee should have the candidate’s prior consent. Meetings are currently held monthly, but some degree of commitment is expected.
