Born in Galicia in 1969 in a small village, educated in a Catholic school, and raised by a military family towards the end of the Franco’s dictatorship and the transition into democracy. This had a deep impact on my youth and still reflects in my personality and manifests in my work as a performer and as an artist.
Galicians are Spanish but our cultural heritage is Celtic and for that reason Catholic and Pagan parallelism is not out of the ordinary. Catholic ceremonies and pagan rituals, faith and superstition, life and death, sexuality and virtue, grotesque and Beauty link to each other in a special way which I explore through organic process.
My work does not attempt to dictate a reading, rather to provoke the viewer to reflect inwards and immerse themselves in a new dialogue with their own constructed acquired structures, by sharing in the intimacy of my processes.
Physicality is important to me, from the sensuality and intimacy of working with clay to the use of the body as plastic material in performance, to the tactual experience of the art work.Sales & Commissions 07965 939293
