In my work, I try to evoke that sense of concealment, suggesting that what
lies beneath the final layer of paint may be key to those stories.
Often, I create a texture on the canvas, using collage, plaster or other materials,
so that the surface itself has its own history, before accepting the paint. I use successive
layers of colour and thin glazes, sometimes hiding, sometimes revealing the ones beneath,
giving the painting new physical and emotional email@example.com
