“I’ve drawn all my life wandering the streets of London looking into shop windows. Always people in street markets or pubs. Later it was Paris, Sweden and Canada. Then living in Italy, card players in dingy bars where women do not go. But i found a way and was gradually accepted, and became invisible. This series was shown in my London gallery following on from my Disappearing London collection.

Moving to Hastings, where i now live, it was the fishermen’s beach, people buying fish or children eating ice cream.”
