About me

Meral Caybakan, born and raised in London. Moved to Turkey in the late eighties to learn and explore of my origin and returned back to England where my new life began in Hastings, East Sussex, since 1994.

I discovered my artistic ability from childhood and learned to express my creativity whilst studying. Although I have taken art studies at Helenswood school as well as achieving a National Diploma in Fashion and Design at Hastings college of arts and Technology, I am fundementally a self taught artist.

I worked in many different industries such as; travelling around the world as an air hostess, cat walk show model for established fashion designers at The Royal Albert Hall in Kensington Gore - London and The Royal Pavilion - Brighton. National Award Winner for "The Best Agency concept". I designed a fictional Travel Agency which included: Interior & Exterior Design of the business with rigorous detail.

Although my job roles have been creative in different professions, I have realized my true potential, art is in my heart! I live and breath it everyday. That positive energy is expressed through my work always and move around diverse materials such as; oil, arcrylic and gouache paints.
The new collection I have for 2011 is based on contemporary art - Celebrating Life. How I view the world such a beautiful place, particularly illustrated through vibrant colours, a spiritual connection with nature which evokes embracing Love and Happiness!
